Our post-production interns work closely with our full time post production team to learn all the areas of film making after the shoot. From ingest to final delivery, learn what it takes to make your favorite video.
What you’ll get:
- $10 an hour to learn and practice post-production skills
- Opportunities to expand your creative skillset on and off-set
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- Desire to learn about post-production editing, color-grading, and sound mixing.
- At least 15 hours a week to dedicate to this position
- Must be available on Mondays from 09:30 am - 5:30 pm for Internship Huddles, equipment training, and weekly workshops
- Have a reliable form of transportation to get to downtown SLC and set locations
Key skills you'll learn during the internship include:
- Video Editing: You'll become proficient in using industry-standard editing software such as Davinci Resolve to assemble footage, add effects, create compelling stories, and deliver a polished final product.
- Color Grading and Correction: Get a look into the art of color correction to enhance the visual appeal of videos. You'll learn how to manipulate color, contrast, and exposure to achieve the desired look and mood for different projects.
- Audio Editing and Mixing: Learn the techniques of audio editing and mixing and selecting music for videos. You'll learn to clean up audio tracks, add sound effects, and mix audio elements to achieve professional-quality sound in your videos.
- Visual Effects (VFX) and Motion Graphics: Gain experience in incorporating visual effects and motion graphics into videos to add visual interest and enhance storytelling. You'll learn to use software such as Adobe After Effects to create stunning visual effects and animations.
- Workflow Management: Learn efficient workflow management techniques to streamline the post-production process and meet project deadlines effectively. You'll understand the importance of organization, file management, and collaboration with other team members.
- Data Management: Get hands on time with industry standard software and learn about ways to ingest and back up media to make sure your content is still accessible for years to come!
- Client Communication and Feedback Incorporation: Develop strong communication skills to effectively communicate with clients and incorporate their feedback into the editing process. You'll learn to interpret client expectations and deliver results that exceed their expectations.
- Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Encounter real-world challenges in post-production and develop creative solutions to overcome them. Whether it's dealing with technical issues or finding creative solutions to editing problems, you'll hone your problem-solving skills during the internship.
